Listen for what the person knows, wants, needs or prefers. The present simple can describe these things now; it does not have to mean a repeated action. Other sentences give a fact about a place or describe how something looks. Catch the verb ending with he, she or one thing, and keep the words after the verb. They complete the meaning. Do not add is or an -ing ending to make the sentence sound more current. Keep the simple form that the speaker uses.
