Verb To Be Dictation: Past States with Was and Were
A2 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Hear was or were together with the person or thing. They tell you about a past feeling, description or place. I, he, she and a single noun usually go with was; you, we, they and plural nouns go with were. Listen for not in a negative. In a question, was or were comes before the subject. Keep any past time or extra detail too. Write the form actually spoken, rather than changing the sentence into a description of how things are now.
