Present Simple Q&A Matching
A1-A2 Level
Matching questions with answers is an excellent way to practise both grammar
and conversation skills. In this exercise, you see present simple questions on one side and
answers on the other, and you must match each question with its correct answer. This helps
you learn how English questions and answers work together — for example, "Do you like tea?"
matches with "Yes, I do" and "Where does he work?" matches with "In a bank."
To match correctly, pay attention to the subject and the question word. A question with "Do you...?" needs an answer with "I" or "we" (not "he" or "she"). A question starting with "Where" needs a place in the answer, "When" needs a time, and "What" needs a thing. Yes/no questions need short answers like "Yes, I do" or "No, she doesn't." This exercise builds the kind of quick thinking you need in real conversations and speaking exams, where you must understand questions and respond quickly with the right information.
