B1-B2 Level

The advanced mixed review tests your mastery of all question tag patterns, including challenging edge cases. You will encounter transferred negation ("I don't think she's coming, is she?" — the tag follows the embedded clause), complex modal combinations, and sentences where multiple rules interact. These patterns appear in authentic English but are less common than basic structures, making them perfect for B1-B2 level consolidation and exam preparation.

Transferred negation is particularly important: when the main clause contains "I don't think," "I don't believe," or "I don't suppose," the negation applies to the embedded clause. "I don't think she is coming" means "I think she is not coming," so the tag follows "she is coming": "is she?" Understanding this important pattern prevents confusion in advanced reading and listening tasks. This exercise prepares you for the final test, which covers the complete range of question tag patterns from A2 through B2 level.
