Modal Verbs Dictation: Permission and Requests
A2 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Listen to who comes after can, could, may or would. With I or we, the speaker may be asking permission. With you, the speaker may be asking someone to do something. That helps you follow the request, but keep the modal you hear; do not make it more polite yourself. Most of these requests have a base verb. Would you mind is different: it takes an ing form here. Write please too when it is spoken, wherever it comes.
