Passive Voice Dictation: Past Events
A2 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Catch was or were before the action word. They tell you that the sentence looks back at something that happened to the thing named first. Was goes with one thing; were goes with more than one. Some action words have an -ed ending, while others have a different past form. Listen to the whole verb group before typing. Keep the place, time or reason at the end too. You do not need to name the person who did the action if the recording does not.
