So vs Such Dictation: So with Quantity Words

Listen to the quantity word after so. Many and few go with plural countable things; much and little go with an uncountable amount. Few and little describe a small quantity, which may be the reason for a problem. So adds emphasis to all four, even though a noun follows them. That is a useful exception to a simple so-versus-such shortcut. Keep the exact quantity word, then follow the result clause; substituting a larger or smaller amount would change the whole explanation.
