Find the complete noun phrase after such before moving into the result. It may have a or an when it names one countable thing; plural and uncountable nouns do not take that indefinite article. That then introduces what happened because of the degree described. The noun belongs to the first part, so do not drop it when the result begins. Listen for both clauses and any negative in the second. Preserve the spoken structure rather than replacing such with so and removing the noun.
