Time Expressions Dictation: Durations and Starting Points
B1 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Ask what the time phrase measures. For gives a length of time; since identifies its starting point. Until marks an endpoint, and during places an event within a period. Listen to what follows the preposition, because it may be a time, an event or a whole clause. These expressions occur with different verb forms, so do not change the tense just because you recognise one of them. Keep the verb as spoken and the complete time detail that explains how long, from when or until when.
