Would Rather / Prefer / Had Better Dictation: Choices with Rather Than
B1 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Follow both choices and the words between them. With would rather, than introduces the less preferred action, and the two actions use base verbs here. Elsewhere, rather than may compare nouns or introduce an ing phrase. Listen to the actual structure instead of forcing every alternative into the same verb form. The preferred choice usually arrives first, but the grammar around it can differ. Keep both choices complete, including objects and place details, so the comparison remains exactly as the speaker gives it.
