This modal perfects error correction exercise focuses on past modal
meanings such as regret, criticism, lost opportunity, strong deduction, and negative
deduction. The key form is modal + have + past participle.
Wrong: "I should revised more for the exam." Correct: "I should have revised more for the exam."
Wrong: "She mustn't have seen us; she was looking the other way." Correct: "She can't have seen us; she was looking the other way."
The challenge is not only adding have. Learners must read the evidence and choose the correct past modal meaning, then leave already-correct sentences unchanged.
