Grammar review
First ask: can I count it? Use how many with a plural noun (how many forks) and how much with a noun that has no plural (how much soap). Uncountable nouns take a singular verb. Prices are the exception: ask how much even when the thing is plural. Do or does agrees with the subject, not with that noun.
