Relative Clauses Error Correction

B1-B2 Level

This relative clauses error correction exercise targets the mistakes learners make when they proofread full sentences: using that in non-defining clauses, choosing the wrong relative pronoun for a person, thing, place, time, or possession, omitting a required subject pronoun, and leaving repeated pronouns inside the relative clause.

Wrong: "My cousin, that lives in York, is a graphic designer." Correct: "My cousin, who lives in York, is a graphic designer."
Wrong: "The laptop which I bought it last week is already broken." Correct: "The laptop which I bought last week is already broken."

Because this route is click-edit, you do not fill a gap from a visible list. You read the whole sentence, decide whether anything is wrong, and edit only the smallest chunk that needs changing. Some sentences are already correct, so the exercise also trains restraint: a defining clause with that, an omitted object pronoun, or whose with an organisation may already be the best answer.
