Adverb vs Adjective Dictation: Actions and Descriptions
A2 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Ask what each describing word tells you about. Does it describe a person or thing, or tell you how someone does something? A quiet voice and speaking quietly use different forms. Listen for the end of the word, especially -ly, but do not add it just because the sentence has an action. Friendly already ends in -ly and describes a person. Keep listening to the next word to help you understand the phrase. Write the form you actually hear.
