Adverb vs Adjective Dictation: Adverb Position and Meaning
B2 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Keep the small adverb in the position where you hear it. Only, nearly, even and just can limit or highlight different parts of a sentence. Listen to what follows them, then use any contrast in the rest of the sentence to understand the emphasis. Simply can mean merely, or describe doing something in a straightforward way. Position helps, but it does not settle every meaning on its own. Capture the whole sentence before checking the note; moving one word can change what the speaker is saying.
