What is the present continuous tense?
The present continuous (also called present progressive) is formed with am/is/are + verb-ing. It describes actions happening right now, temporary situations, future arrangements, and annoying habits. Corpus research shows it accounts for about 15% of all verb forms in spoken English, making it one of the three most frequently used tenses.
