Past Simple Dictation: Regular Endings in Speech
A2 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Give the end of the verb a careful listen. Written ed can sound like t, like d, or like an extra syllable. It does not always sound like the letters e and d said separately. Listen to the verb with the next word if the ending is hard to catch. Then write the past spelling, including any doubled letter. The sentence tells you about a finished event, but that meaning is only a guide: the sound still matters for writing the exact verb.
