Wish & If Only Dictation: Desired Changes with Would
B2 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Listen for would before the action the speaker wants to change. The wish may concern another person's behaviour or an outside situation, such as the weather. It expresses a desired change rather than predicting what will happen. Keep not if the person wants an action to stop, and catch all the particles in a longer action phrase. The subject after wish shows who or what would make the change. Preserve that subject and the complete wish, rather than turning it into advice or a direct request.
