Multiple Changes Advanced Exercises
B2-C1 Level
Multiple changes advanced practice trains you to build a word in stages. The
final answer may need a prefix, a suffix, a spelling change, and sometimes a tense or adverb
ending. For example, a base word can become an adjective and then an adverb, or a noun can become
a verb before a past ending is added. Not every item has exactly three changes, so the sentence
must guide the answer rather than the title alone.
Work slowly and logically. First identify the missing word type. Then decide whether the meaning is positive or negative. Next, build the word family form that fits the sentence. Finally, check whether the sentence needs an adverb ending, a past verb ending, or a plural noun. These questions are useful for B2-C1 learners because they combine vocabulary, grammar, and spelling in one task. They also encourage you to test the answer in the full sentence instead of relying on a memorised suffix list.
