Negative Prefixes Medium Exercises
B2 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
The prefix mis- often means "wrongly" or "badly", as in misunderstand or misplace. This is different from a simple opposite meaning. Read the whole sentence to decide whether it needs "not", "opposite", or "done wrongly". These B2 questions help you avoid common forms that look possible but are not natural, such as using in- where English normally uses un-. The best answer is the word that matches both the spelling tendency and the meaning of the sentence. Reading the answer aloud can help you notice when a possible-looking prefix is not the usual English form.
