Compound Words Dictation: Everyday Closed Compound Nouns
A2 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Listen for the whole name of the object, not just its two parts. Some familiar English words join smaller words together and are written as one word. You cannot hear a written space, so use the meaning of the sentence to recognise the word. The first part may sound stronger, but keep listening to the end. Notice an -s if the speaker names more than one thing. Write the complete sentence, then check that you have kept both parts of the word.
