Confusing Verbs Dictation: Bring Take Fetch and Carry
B1 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Follow where the object is going. Bring looks towards the speaker, listener or a shared meeting place; take looks towards somewhere else. Fetch includes going to get something and returning, while carry focuses on holding and moving it. The place phrase helps you understand the viewpoint, so listen beyond the verb. Keep any back, from, into or across that you hear. Do not swap verbs because they all involve movement: each describes it differently, and the recording tells you which one the speaker uses.
