Past Continuous Dictation: Actions Happening at the Same Time
B1 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Keep track of who is doing each activity. While connects two things happening at the same time, but each clause has its own subject and its own was or were. The auxiliary may change halfway through because the people or things change. Hear each verb group together with its subject. Then check that both ing endings remain in your answer. There is no need to remove repeated grammar words; the two complete clauses help show how the activities overlap.
