Word Formation Dictation: Adverbs and Spelling Changes
B1 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Catch the word telling you how the action happens. These adverbs end in ly, but their spelling may change from the related adjective. A final y can become i, while an adjective already ending in l keeps that letter before ly. Listen to the complete sound rather than expecting each written letter to stand out. Then keep the verb and the other details in the sentence. The aim is to hear and spell the given adverb, not replace the adjective in a written prompt.
