Word Formation Dictation: Verbs with Prefixes
B2 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Listen to the beginning of the verb before following the action. Re can signal doing something again, un or dis can reverse an action, and mis can show that something was done wrongly. The meaning belongs to the whole established word, though; a prefix is a clue rather than a rule for inventing new verbs. Keep any past ending or irregular form too. If the action sounds familiar, replay its first part rather than accidentally dropping the prefix that changes what happened.
