Word Formation Dictation: Negative Prefixes
B1 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Give the beginning of the adjective a careful listen. A prefix can make a familiar quality negative, and missing it may reverse the description. Un, in, im, il, ir and dis are not interchangeable, even when their meanings seem close. Use the sentence to understand the word, then replay its opening if it remains unclear. Keep the complete established adjective rather than replacing it with not plus the base word. Its spelling and the rest of the sentence both belong in the dictation.
