Cleft Sentences Dictation: It Clefts for Time and Place
B2 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Listen for a time or place near the beginning, just after it is or it was. The speaker brings that detail forward to give it emphasis; the that-clause supplies the rest of the event. Keep the preposition with the time or place if there is one. At, near, during and before are small but meaningful parts of the focus. Do not move the phrase back to the end when you write. Let the recording give you both verb forms rather than trying to make their tenses match.
