Gerunds & Infinitives Dictation: Remember, Stop and Try
B2 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Listen to the form after remember, stop or try before deciding what the speaker means. Remembering doing something concerns a memory; remembering to do it concerns an intended task. Stopping an activity ends it, while stopping to do something interrupts another activity for that purpose. Trying an -ing activity can mean testing a method; trying to do it describes an attempt. The surrounding sentence helps confirm the meaning. Keep the form actually heard, even if another form would make a grammatical sentence with a different message.
