Inversion Dictation: Never, Rarely and Seldom
B2 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
When never, rarely or seldom opens the sentence, expect the auxiliary before the subject. That unusual order gives emphasis; it does not make the sentence a question. Catch the auxiliary carefully, because have, had, did and will point to different verb patterns and times. Then locate the main action later in the clause. Seldom and rarely mean not often, whereas never rules the event out within the intended time. Keep the opening adverb and the full verb group, including the order in which you hear them.
