Inversion Dictation: Only with Fronted Phrases
B2 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Let the whole only phrase finish before looking for the main subject. The inversion happens in the main clause, so its auxiliary can arrive several words after only. A smaller clause inside the opening phrase keeps its own ordinary order. Listen for the point where the main action begins, then hear the auxiliary and subject together. Did, could, can and was are not interchangeable here. Preserve the exact opening phrase as well: it tells you which time, method or condition limits the action.
