Participle Clauses Dictation: Sequence and Result
C1 Level
English Exercises is teacher-led by Charlie. About the teacher · How content is made
Follow how the two events connect, rather than assuming an ing phrase always means at the same time. An opening action can lead into the main event. A phrase at the end can describe a result of what just happened. The whole first event may cause that result, so the link needs meaning as well as grammar. Listen in manageable phrases, keeping the objects and location details attached to their verbs. Then preserve the shorter participle structure instead of rewriting it as a second full clause.
