What are personal pronouns in English?
Personal pronouns replace nouns to avoid repetition. English has four main types: subject pronouns (I, you, he, she, it, we, they), object pronouns (me, you, him, her, it, us, them), possessive adjectives (my, your, his, her, its, our, their), and possessive pronouns (mine, yours, his, hers, ours, theirs). Corpus research shows pronouns make up about 15% of all words in spoken English.
